FAQs

Does my Google Pixel 6, 7 Pro or 8 Pro support eSIM and Dual-SIM?

Yes! The Google Pixel 6, Pixel 7 / 7 Pro, and the Pixel 8 / 8 Pro fully support eSIM technology, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. Furthermore, they feature Dual-SIM capabilities, allowing you to run two eSIM profiles simultaneously or combine a physical SIM with a digital Airnetly eSIM.

Is the iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14, or SE eSIM compatible?

Yes! All Apple models from the iPhone XS/XR and newer (including the iPhone 11, 12, 13, 14 series, and iPhone SE 2nd Gen onwards) fully support eSIM technology.

How to check if my phone supports eSIM?

The easiest way is to open your phone app and dial *#06#. If a 32-digit EID number appears on your screen, your device is eSIM ready.

What happens if I delete my eSIM?

If you delete an eSIM profile from your phone's settings, the data plan is permanently erased. You cannot simply scan the same QR code again. Only delete your eSIM when your trip is over and you no longer need the data.

How many eSIMs can iPhone 16 / 17 have?

You can store eight or more eSIM profiles on an iPhone 16 or 17. However, you can only have two phone lines (eSIMs) active at the exact same time.

Can I use an eSIM on a locked phone?

No. To use a travel eSIM from Airnetly or any other provider, your phone must be completely unlocked by your home carrier. You cannot install an eSIM on a network-locked device.

Does using an eSIM change your number?

No, downloading a travel eSIM does not change your primary WhatsApp or phone number. You keep your physical SIM active for calls/texts and simply use the eSIM for mobile internet.

How long does it take to activate an eSIM?

Activation is instant! It usually takes less than 2 minutes to scan the QR code and connect to the local network.

Why should I check my compatibility?

Before booking a data plan for your next trip, it's crucial to ensure your device supports this technology. Important note: Smartphones from certain regions (like iPhones from Mainland China) may not support eSIMs. Always use our *#06# test to be 100% sure.
