Install and activate your eSIM. Follow our simple step-by-step guide for your device.
Before you begin
Compatible Device
Your smartphone must support eSIM.
Internet Connection
Wi-Fi is required for the installation.
Unlocked Device
Your device must not be locked to a specific carrier.
QR Code Ready
Have the QR code from our email ready.
Select your device
Open the Settings on your iPhone.
Go to the "Cellular" or "Mobile Data" menu.
Tap on "Add eSIM".
Select "Other Options" (if prompted).
Choose "Use QR Code".
Scan the QR code from our email.
Continue with the activation. The installation is then complete.
Rename your eSIM (Cellular Plan Label).
We recommend the name "Airnetly".
Choose "Primary" as your Default Voice Line.
Choose "Airnetly" for Cellular Data. "Allow Cellular Data Switching" must be OFF!
Ensure the eSIM is selected under Cellular Data. Then open the eSIM tab (usually) under your phone number.
Turn ON "Data Roaming" for the eSIM.
Set the Voice & Data mode to "5G On" or "5G Auto".
Your Airnetly eSIM is now active! 🎉
Open the Settings on your smartphone.
Go to the "Connections" menu.
Tap on "SIM manager".
Select "Add eSIM".
Choose the option "Scan QR code".
Scan the QR code from our email.
Confirm the addition of the eSIM.
Wait until the process is complete and do not interrupt it.
Choose the new eSIM (e.g., "eSIM 1") for your "Mobile data".
Go back to Connections and open "Mobile networks".
Make sure "Data roaming" is enabled for the eSIM. Your Airnetly eSIM is now active! 🎉

Troubleshooting
Common problems and their solutions
No ConnectionThe eSIM is not connecting to the network
Check in your settings if 'Data Roaming' is turned on for the Airnetly eSIM and if it is selected as the primary line for mobile data. Then, restart your device.
QR Code cannot be scannedThe QR code scanner is not working
Ensure you are connected to Wi-Fi. Alternatively, you can install the eSIM manually by entering the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code found in our email.
Slow SpeedThe data connection is slow
Turn on Airplane Mode for 10 seconds and turn it off again so your phone reconnects to the local network. Ensure 4G/LTE/5G is enabled in your settings.
eSIM not showing upThe eSIM does not appear in settings
Your device might not support eSIMs or it may be carrier-locked. Check your EID by dialing *#06# or contact our support team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I install the eSIM before my trip?
Yes! We highly recommend installing it at home via Wi-Fi. The validity period only starts when the eSIM connects to the network at your destination.
Can I have multiple eSIMs at the same time?
Yes, you can store multiple eSIM profiles on your device. However, you can usually only use 1 or 2 actively at the same time.
What happens to my main SIM?
It remains untouched. You can keep it active for calls and WhatsApp, while the Airnetly eSIM handles the mobile internet.
Can I delete and reinstall the eSIM?
NO! A deleted eSIM profile is permanently gone and cannot be scanned again. Only delete it after your vacation is over.
Does the eSIM work for phone calls?
No, our eSIMs are data-only plans. However, you can easily make calls via apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Skype.
How long is the eSIM valid?
The validity (e.g., 7 or 30 days) begins the moment the eSIM connects to the network in your destination country for the first time.
What if the QR code doesn't work?
You can always enter the eSIM manually. You will find the necessary SM-DP+ address and activation code in our email.
Can I top up my eSIM?
A direct top-up is usually not possible. Simply buy a new package for your destination in our shop and you will receive a new QR code instantly.
How do I check if my device is eSIM compatible?
Type *#06# into your phone app. If a long EID number is displayed, your device is ready.
Does my eSIM work in neighboring countries?
This depends on your plan. Single-country plans only work there. For road trips, we recommend our regional plans (e.g., 'Europe' or 'Asia').
How fast is the internet with Airnetly?
You will mostly surf on the fast 4G/LTE or 5G network of our local partner providers.
Can I cancel the purchase or get a refund?
As long as you haven't scanned/activated the QR code, you can cancel unused plans according to our refund policy. Just contact our support.
